Venture Crew 911 offers several courses to the public. These courses are taught by trained nurses, paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, and instructors at the St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood. (Please refer to the list below for course description and availability)

Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)

- This is an entry-level emergency medical provider course that prepares individuals who intend to pursue training in a variety of industrial and pre-hospital settings.

The EMR course is designed to provide students with basic knowledge and skills to manage many medical and trauma related emergencies. Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are eligible to seek state certification as an EMR through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and the Division of Public Health and Safety of the State of Colorado.
  • Date: November - May (Summer option available depending on number of students signed-up)
  • Cost:  No fee for Crew 911 members.  At this time we do not offer this course to the public.

    ~ American Heart Association BLS Provider Manual (2010 ed)

 

Wilderness and Remote First Aid

- In order to better prepare individuals, this course provides a foundation of first aid and skills for use in areas where immediate emergency medical response is not adequate. These skills are most useful in the wilderness and remote environments.
  • Date: May 11 & 12, 2019
  • Time: 8am to 6pm
  • Cost: $50
  • Location: St Anthony Hospital, Lakewood, CO
  • Prerequisite: 14 years of age by end of course.
  • Certification: Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid Certificate good for two years.

 CPR/AED/First Aid (Adult & Pediatric)

  • Time: 9am to 3:30pm
  • Cost: $30, or $10 for those recertifying who have taken their previous course from Crew 911.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

- Our CPR course comes in a couple of options. Individuals can take our 'Healthcare Provider' or 'First Aid/CPR/AED' option.
